December 27-29, 2009

We (my photography club) decided to go further down south to observe Mayon Volcano’s magnificent show of might and beauty. Renowned as the “perfect cone” because of its almost perfect conical shape, this geological wonder is already a treat… add lava flows on a (slightly) fine evening sky and its already majestic.

Even though I occasionally go to Bicol this past few years, I have never seen lava flow from the crater of Mt. Mayon (or any other volcano). I made sure to join the trip and try to capture this rare behavior of one of the country’s proudest natural wonders.
